
Carmen
Carmen Loderus (Sharanya) is an Ayurvedic practitioner and licensed massage therapist and the owner of Sharanya Ayurveda and Massage in Kerikeri, New Zealand. She provides Ayurvedic Health Consultations, Ayurvedic Therapies, and Therapeutic Massage. Carmen was the owner of East West Ayurveda in Albuquerque, New Mexico which opened its doors in 2006 and operated until she moved to New Zealand in 2023. She also served on the Faculty at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico as a Student Clinic Supervisor and taught the Ayurvedic Applied skills class there and at the Vasant Institute of Ayurveda in Pune, India. At the Arogya Center in New Mexico she was the Paricarak (attendant) and Pancha Karma therapist for clients receiving Pancha Karma. Carmen began her exploration into alternative therapies in 1991 graduating from Nature Care College in Sydney, Australia as a Licensed Massage Therapist. In 1992, she opened a successful alternative health clinic in Avalon, Sydney. Her desire to deepen her knowledge of Ayurveda led her to New Mexico where she studied at the Ayurvedic Institute under Dr Vasant Lad, graduating in 2001 as an Ayurvedic practitioner. She then continued her studies in India with Dr. Sunil Joshi and graduated in Nagpur with a Certificate of Ayurveda. In 2004 she interned at Poonthottam Ayurveda Ashram under Dr Raveendranath and also with Dr Vijith Sasidhar at Sree Krishna Chikitsa Kendram in Kerala, India. She enhanced her Ayurvedic education under the tutelage of Vaidya Kashyapa Fisher at The Arogya Center in Albuquerque New Mexico.
