Rina

Rina is currently practicing as a Doctor of Ayurveda both virtually and in-person in Albuquerque, NM. Before embarking on her Ayurvedic path, she graduated from New York University and worked in the world of corporate finance for 11 years until some health challenges inspired her to leave New York City and seek a path that inspired wellness, balance, and a deeper sense of fulfillment. This journey landed her in India for six months, where she began to self-study and integrate Ayurveda into her own wellness journey. During this time, she was fortunate to have an opportunity to spend a month shadowing Sudhirbhai Pandya, an Ayurvedic physician in Gujarat, India. After seeing firsthand the direct impact of Ayurvedic protocols on clients’ physical and emotional health, combined with the transformative experience of having incorporated Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle practices into her own life, Rina was inspired to formally study Ayurveda. Rina found that in its approach to understanding the individual from a holistic perspective and through the lens of doshas, elements, and qualities, Ayurveda had the answers to the questions about her health that were a mystery to Western medical practitioners. Ayurveda helped her understand the root cause of her challenges and provided the framework to inspire her body’s natural intelligence to guide itself back towards balance. Rina is now passionate about sharing and utilizing the centuries old wisdom of Ayurveda to support others on their unique healing and wellness journeys. She feels that this is a profound part of her dharma, or her purpose, in this lifetime. Rina's formal training includes four years of Ayurvedic training under the guidance of Dr. Vasant Lad, BAMS, MASc, at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM and Asheville, NC. This program included 600+ hours of direct clinical experience; 2 months of shadowing and working directly with Dr. Lad at his clinic in Pune, India; a 500-hour Ayuryoga Teacher Training; and a Licensed Massage Therapist program at the New Mexico School of Massage. In addition to in-person consultations in Albuquerque, NM, Rina offers all of her services via telehealth with the exception of Marma therapy.
